Seasons

Spring is always rainy, sometimes zany, can be drainy.
Summer's heat waves, lifeguard braves, ball saves.
Fall is changing, rearranging, completely engaging.
        Winter...holly, folly, and oh-so-jolly!

The Spring rains we are having in Oregon are draining my energy!

Lynn, I like your statement about fall and am so glad that the springtime air is refreshing.

This is such a lively poem. I'm guessing students would love it and want to copy its energy.

Barbara, I am going to share with students. Hope some might try to imitate. Thanks for reading!

Love it... and I think it is a great poem for cross curricular poetry for seasons with great vocabulary.

I'm trying to figure out... are we in spring? It's sure felt like it this week, though the calendar tells us otherwise.

You are my hero for mentor texts, and here is a great one! As we transition from seasons, it's always fun to reflect on what makes each special and memorable. This one is fun and bouncy!! Great slice for Poetry Friday!

Lynne loves to write in the early morning hours, especially in warm weather when she can sit outside on the patio.  After a walk with her three Welsh Corgis, her mind is cleared and her spirit is inspired by the choir of birds in nearby bushes and trrees.
